This version is free and serves to test the connection to ownCloud 6. Upon a successful connection and thumbnail generation, users are encouraged to consider the full version. It is important to note that when using https, ensure that a valid SSL certificate is in place or imported before utilizing the application.
The application creates thumbnails and stores them locally on the device, which is particularly beneficial for quickly accessing recently taken photos, for instance, from a holiday trip.
By caching thumbnails, the app reduces bandwidth consumption compared to loading the original images, resulting in quicker loading times.
It is essential for users to be on ownCloud Version 6 for seamless functionality; otherwise, an upgrade may be necessary.
As a limitation of the ownCloud API, the app presents image previews as squares only; however, users can always access and display the original images as needed.
